Tracy Morgan Makes First Appearance After Truck Accident

Almost a full year after being involved in a deadly truck accident that took the life of a fellow comedian, actor Tracy Morgan recently made an appearance on The Today Show. On June 7 of last year, Morgan’s vehicle was struck by a Wal-Mart tractor trailer in a six-car accident. Morgan was in a coma for two weeks following the accident, and has still not fully recovered from his injuries.

Morgan’s case should remind us all of the dangers trucks can pose when poorly operated and maintained, and the outrageous health costs that we can incur to treat injuries from those crashes. If you ever get in an accident with a large truck, it’s likely that the costs of medical care and lost wages will be more than you can financially handle, and will impact the quality of your life.

Damages you can claim in a car accident case (depending on the particulars) include:

  • Medical treatment for injuries
  • Physical/Cognitive therapy fees
  • Ambulance fees and the cost of crutches, wheelchairs, and other accessories
  • Permanent disability
  • Pain and Suffering
  • Lost Wages
  • Lost Affection and Companionship
  • In-home services used as a result of your injuries

Fortunately, you do have legal recourse if you ever find yourself in such an unfortunate situation. Under the law, the parties at fault for the accident owe you financial compensation for any damages you’ve endured, whether to your property, your health, your earning ability, and even for any physical or psychological pain you have experienced.

At Weiser & Associates, we can work to make sure you are fairly compensated for your injuries in a truck accident or any other type of vehicular collision. We know how to investigate trucking companies and secure evidence in a timely matter, and we will fight for you in negotiations and in court.
